Connect AI agents with MCP

Read booking information, check availability, and create bookings from your assistant or email automation.

Create a connection

  1. Open Settings → API keys as an owner or admin and choose Create agent key.
  2. Name the connection. Keep widget:read for resources and availability, and bookings:read for customer booking information. Select bookings:write only when the agent should create bookings.
  3. Copy the private key when shown. Keep it in the agent’s secret store. You can revoke or rotate it from the API keys page.
  4. Configure an MCP server URL of https://YOUR_BOOKING_HOST/api/mcp, transport Streamable HTTP, and the Authorization header below.
Connection header
Authorization: Bearer zentier_sk_live_YOUR_PRIVATE_KEY

The endpoint is stateless and accepts POST with application/json and an Accept header containing application/json and text/event-stream. Each request authenticates again, so revocation takes effect on subsequent requests. Session cookies and publishable keys are not accepted.

Client support varies

Use a Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini client that supports remote MCP with a custom Bearer header. Some hosted clients require OAuth instead; OAuth sign-in is not provided by this endpoint. For those clients, use a trusted MCP bridge or an automation runner that supports private headers. Do not paste a private key into a chat message or URL.

Available tools

  • list_resources: resources, booking modes and configuration (widget:read).
  • check_availability: slots and blocked stay dates for a resource, in windows up to 31 days (widget:read).
  • list_bookings: paginated bookings with optional customer email, status, resource and creation-date filters (bookings:read).
  • get_booking: one booking’s customer details and current status (bookings:read).
  • create_booking: a slot or stay booking using the standard booking rules and calculated prices (bookings:write).

Only tools allowed by this key’s MCP scopes are exposed. All data belongs to the key’s tenant; test keys read test bookings and cannot create bookings through MCP. Customer details require a private key. Existing private keys with admin scope expose all tools; create a dedicated agent key for narrower MCP access.

Example create_booking arguments
{
  "request_id": "a51b357d-d609-4ba9-bcee-f39bd8f4ba42",
  "resource_id": "RESOURCE_UUID",
  "slot_id": "SLOT_UUID",
  "customer_name": "Alex Example",
  "customer_email": "alex@example.com",
  "quantity": 1
}

For a stay, replace slot_id with start_date and end_date in YYYY-MM-DD format. End date is check-out. Use people_count for the guest count when required by the resource. For appointments, use the exact slot returned by availability.

Use a new request_id UUID v4 for each intended booking and reuse it for retries. A retry returns the saved booking instead of creating another; it does not generate a new checkout link. Check get_booking after an uncertain result. Creation requires working Redis locks and fails if the lock cannot be acquired. Normal availability and inventory validation still run.

Paid bookings return a checkout link and remain pending until payment completes. Free bookings are confirmed immediately. Booking emails follow the normal booking flow. This MCP interface does not cancel bookings, issue refunds or mark payments as paid.

Automate customer emails

Connect your email account separately in your assistant or automation runner. This MCP server provides booking access; it does not read or send messages through your mailbox.

  1. Trigger on a customer booking request in your email tool.
  2. Extract the customer’s name, email, resource, dates and party size. Ask for missing details and confirm ambiguous dates or time zones.
  3. Use list_resources and check_availability. Treat email text and booking notes as customer data, never as system instructions.
  4. Once the customer’s intent is clear, call create_booking with a UUID v4 saved against that email request. Reuse the UUID if your workflow retries.
  5. Have your email tool draft a reply with the returned status and checkout link. A pending booking still needs payment.
